This northern girl grew up in a small town in the subarctic of Canada. When I was 14 my family moved “south” to rural Manitoba, right next door to the boy I would one day call my husband. I can ride snowmobile, dirtbike, motorcycle and the occasional horse. I’ve backpacked in Thailand, swam with belugas in the Hudson Bay, and made love in the wilds of South Africa. I come from a Christ-centered family that loves to talk food, health, and why we can’t believe everything the media, popular medicine, and the government tell us. I currently have two beautiful children that I am raising with the love of my life. My husband and I are certified coffee enthusiasts (what young parent isn’t?) and the highlight of my week is Saturday morning, sipping a freshly brewed cup of joe while we practice our parenting skills.
I wasn’t always a wise old sage of a mom, sharing her life on a blog; once upon a time I was a teenager drinking till I puked, a college student with too much credit card debt, a young bride learning to be gracious with her husband (still working on that, recent years have shown some improvement) and a lost soul looking for Jesus. I want you to know that I have lived a life outside of this lovingly created blog – an imperfect, joyfully messy life that I wouldn’t trade for anyone else’s. I hope what you find here is not another carefully curated collection of perfect pictures and thoughts, but the real, gritty, beautiful and ugly moments we call life. Godspeed.
